Business Support Officer (CTC Clearance) - Central London - Permanent

Job description

We are seeking to recruit a Business Administration Officer to work within a Central Government department for the Government Security Group's Corporate Services team. The role holder will have opportunities to get involved in providing direct support to the Crown Representatives as well as other team members. In addition, the successful candidate will perform core functions of the department and assist in managing strategic supplier relationships and ad-hoc projects. This role is central to the team and will directly support the Group in achieving its targets and deliverables. Already Cleared candidates would be preferred or willing to undergo the full CTC Clearance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Providing expenses and payments assurance and audit for the Security Group Programme
  • Forecast planning, demand management, day to day general administration
  • Liaising with strategic suppliers to manage contracts and invoicing
  • High quality support of the department including effective coordination of meetings as well as accurate and concise minute taking when required
  • Supporting ad-hoc projects including developing and supporting programme products eg risk registers, plans, process charts and maps
  • Managing group communication routes including information dissemination (Commercial Relationship Board, Department info etc.)
  • Organising wider team activities including on-boarding new starters/leavers and ICT issues
  • Shared drive and procedures management including developing high-quality reports and outputs in a range of formats including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Forging effective networks and relationships across the team, Division and wider Department

Experience & Skills Required

  • Possesses a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organised and methodical in the way work is carried out
  • Ability to build effective collaborative and constructive relationships
  • Highly efficient and organised with an ability to balance several commitments simultaneously
  • Ability to think logically and clearly, and to deliver under pressure
  • Strong IT skills including good working knowledge of MS Office systems (Word, Outlook, Excel) as well as G-mail and related suite of apps
  • Experience of working with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of administrative work
