GROUP PARTNERSHIP COORDINATOR (part time)
Since 1985, Ronald McDonald House® of Akron, Inc. (RMHA) has been committed to enriching lives through comfort, care and supportive services for families with loved ones being treated by Akron Children's Hospital and local medical facilities.
We are currently seeking a part time Group Partnership Coordinator to be responsible for recruitment, scheduling and supervision of group volunteer meals and activities for the Ronald McDonald House of Akron. The hours for this position are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with additional hours at times required on Saturday and Sunday.
The part time Group Partnership Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Programs and Services. This individual advances the mission of RMHA in a manner consistent with the excellent quality of services provided to families in crisis since 1985.
In the spirit of teamwork, this individual interacts in collaboration with RMHA staff and volunteers to provide support and assistance in the fulfillment of their goals and objectives.
Recruit and schedule volunteer groups to cook meals or perform other services at RMHA.
Greet and orient volunteer groups, directing them in their tasks. Ensure that all group members sign in and wear volunteer identification badges.
Supervise and direct groups in their tasks and ensure that all meal program procedures are being followed.
Direct meal groups and volunteers to clean the kitchen and store leftover food.
Lead the coordination of identifying potential projects to be completed by groups. Communicate with other RMHA staff to determine their current volunteer needs.
Provide information for the Family Services Coordinator or the Guest and Volunteer Services Associate about the duties that will be performed by groups volunteering on the weekends or when the Group Partnership Coordinator is not on duty.
Work with the Volunteer Manager to coordinate meal options in advance for days when groups are not available through managing frozen inventory, leftovers, or ordering food when needed.
Provide information and pictures on groups to the Director of Development and Special Events Manager to highlight in communications tools.
Conduct follow-up calls and electronic communication with volunteer groups to acknowledge their donation and offer additional engagement opportunities. Continue to nurture community groups and refer them to the Development Director when appropriate.
Generate monthly group surveys to all volunteer group leaders and share the results with the Director of Programs and Services and Executive Director.
Create and maintain a comfortable environment a home-like atmosphere for the families. Show hospitality and respect to all guests.
Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed for each group including Donation of Service forms, receipts for in-kind donations, and group notes.
Compile and maintain a master list of all volunteer groups in the volunteer database and the type of service they perform for RMHA.
Ensure that all volunteer groups are acknowledged in a timely basis for their service.
Complete Incident Report for all unusual incidents that occur.
Work with the Administrative/Development Coordinator to ensure input of volunteer groups into the donor database.
Contribute to RMHA newsletter as requested.
Supply volunteers to help with projects and events benefiting RMHA, as requested.
Conduct House tours for businesses and organizations.
Participate on RMHA committees as requested.
Represent RMHA at external events such as tabling events, activity/volunteer fairs, corporate events, etc.
Assist with public relations and fund development activities as requested.
Perform other duties related to RMHA business as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience working closely with volunteer groups or teams preferred.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, with an ability to learn and use organization-specific programs and required software
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills
Must have a valid driver's license.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
This position has some physical demands that include:
Standing during activities and for community functions.
Sitting, viewing computer monitors, and utilizing a computer keyboard.
Traveling to community functions.
Heavy lifting and carrying of up to 30 pounds required.
RMHA is located across from Akron Children's Hospital.
