About the Job
The Technical Consultant - Infrastructure is a senior technical role within the IT Operations and Support Team.
You will become part of a highly skilled team in a very busy environment providing on-going maintenance and development of the Data Centres and the associated core infrastructure and networks. You will be the last line of escalation for complex escalated problems, new customer builds & installs and large projects.
You will provide 3rd Line Support within the Infrastructure & Networks Team, dealing primarily with Windows Servers, VMWare virtualization technologies and other Microsoft applications.
Due to the nature of the work some flexible working is required, hours covered are currently 7am - 7pm with an average of 7.5 hours worked daily between these times.
After the initial six months probationary period, this role may attract an "on-call" allowance where the candidate can apply to participate in the existing "on call" rota on a 1 week in 4 basis.
About the Candidate
The successful Technical Consultant - Infrastructure will have
- Strong experience of Windows Server & Desktop infrastructure
- Active Directory administration and configuration skills
- Good understanding of VMWare stack
- An understanding of Local Area Networking
- Microsoft Exchange administration & deployment
- Microsoft Powershell
- Experience of ITIL processes
- An understanding of Technical Project Management
- Linux experience (preferably Red Hat administration)
