Systems Engineer - Citrix and Virtual/Cloud experience needed

This is a highly visible customer-focused role. The ideal candidate will have very strong experience in virtualized environments and Citrix. Engineers are responsible for the overall system health of customer environments and develop and manage the strategic planning of customer infrastructure life cycles. This is a Tier II/III support role and a rotating "call" schedule. Core hours are 7 AM-4 p.m. and the role could require local travel to customer sites and up to 20% of travel out of town for conferences, customer onboarding, customer support, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain and upgrade backup solution(s) and customer infrastructure on a regular schedule
Responsible for the administration of IT Portal and overseeing of proper documentation/relationships
Implement, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools both internally and externally
Assist in the development of IT Portal, LinkedIn Learning and overall training guides
Collaborate with the SOC team to mitigate, patch, and harden customer infrastructure
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
Maintain customer uptime, consistent backups, and redundancy strategies
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
Partner with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Provide Incident Response (IR) support when analysis confirms actionable incident

Core skills required:
5+ years of experience
Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting virtual-based environments
Experience with RMM tools and/or automation scripts, such as ConnectWise Automate
Solid networking knowledge
Should be proficient and certified in at least one of the following: Citrix, VMware, Nutanix, Infrastructure, Operating Systems
Intermediate Virtual and/or Cloud experience with the Azure, VMware, Nutanix, or Citrix technologies

The ideal candidate will have active/valid certifications but willing to consider candidates whose certifications have lapsed:
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
VMWare Certified Professional
Nutanix Certified Professional
Citrix Certified Virtualization- Associate
