For our client, a international Re-Insurance, we are looking for a Business Analyst/Project Manager in the Area of Claims Workstation for a long-term project in Zurich.

Reinsurance Business Analyst/PM Claims Workstation

PURPOSE

This role offers an experienced individual the opportunity to develop the Product Backlog (Features and User Stories) based on sound business analysis, to plan their execution from both the business and IT perspective, and to support several multi-functional teams in delivering the Product Backlog from implementation through adoption and closure.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Core member of the SCRUM team, providing input to the Delivery teams on Product Backlog Items
  • Business Analysis
    • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand business needs, and design processes and data sources (as-is and to-be).
    • Collaborate with IT Architects to determine appropriate approaches to deliver business stakeholder needs.
    • Act as the Product Owner's Proxy to prepare Agile Epics, Features and User Stories for implementation by the delivery team
  • Project Management
    • Track project metrics
    • Communicate frequently with executive leadership to provide project risk analysis, status, and changes that may impact strategic direction.
  • Perform miscellaneous other duties as assigned
  • Infrequent travel as required

REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

Experience

  • 10+ years of Reinsurance industry experience, preferably with hands-on experience in the Reinsurance Claims domain with a good understanding of the terminology, core business functions and processes.
  • 5+ years of experience of supporting projects with durations of 1+ years and valued at 500K+
    • business analysis, requirements definition, business architecture, process and Datamodelling
    • working with/guiding virtual software technology teams across several time-zones
    • track project financials against plan/business case
  • 3+ years of Agile project delivery experience
  • Solid foundation in business analysis and project management bodies of knowledge, eg BABOK, PMBOK
  • Solid understanding of software development, testing and transition processes, eg ITIL v3

Tool skills

  • Will use Azure DevOps/Team Foundation Server to manage backlogs
  • Will use MS Project to review/report on time and cost
  • Will need strong Excel skills for analysis and modelling
  • Will require SQL Scripting skills for data analysis
  • Working with MS Office and MS Visio considered a given
  • Sharepoint used as document repository

Certifications sought

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (IIBA) or similar qualification
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMI) or similar professional qualification
  • Certified ITIL Practitioner or Intermediate Lifecycle
