Do you like a challenge? Are you at your best when testing the latest technologies? Do you get a buzz from problem solving? Then read on - this company might be just what you were looking for!
My client have a PHP Developer position in their rapidly expanding head office team. You will be working alongside their digital marketing team to grow their E-commerce offering and help evolve all things technology in their business.
Who are we?
My Client is a specialist builders merchant distributing products to both the building trade and DIY homeowners all across the UK via an existing platform of four E-commerce websites. This platform is supported by a large distribution hub and three additional branch locations. They are a privately-owned, innovative and well-structured business that leads the market in its chosen sectors. Established in 2009, their growing E-commerce offering is now a multi-million pound business in its own right.
This is not your everyday in-house developer role!
As their group is developing at a fast pace, no two days will ever be the same; you will be involved in a wide variety of projects and will continue to spearhead their digital transformation. Some projects will push your existing skills to their limits, some will require you to acquire new skills altogether. But that's great, because you will be joining a team of geeks who love to challenge themselves and don't accept the status quo.
This is not your everyday agency developer role either!
If there are projects that come out of a business requirement, you will be involved in discussions from the offset, so you can help set the strategy and expectations, and you will be in constant communications with key stakeholders, so you can help each other out along the way. And hopefully you will also be coming up with ideas of your own; "we celebrate innovation and if it makes good business sense, we will test it. Failure isn't frowned upon - we all have to make mistakes to progress, so if something does go wrong, we sort it out, learn from it and try again."
What my client want above all is a committed team player who will approach any development with the utmost attention to code quality, documentation, best practices, re-usability, security, performance and upgradeability. An appetite for learning and an eye for detail are also really important to them - they are proud of their business and they always aim to stay at the top of their game.
