An experienced Software Engineer is required for an established business in Portsmouth who have been operating in their field for 20 years. The company has recently achieved record growth and has an enviable reputation for providing innovative and dynamic robotics solutions within a variety of industries, but predominantly work within the marine, defence and Oil & Gas sectors.
Through continued and exciting growth plans, the company now have a requirement for a Senior Software Engineer, with an emphasis on theory whilst having the practical focus for delivery.
Package for the position of Senior Software Engineer:
- Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 p.a.
- Company Pension
- Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays
Summary of the role of Senior Software Engineer:
Working with a dynamic team that takes ideas from concept to developed products in a fast-moving marine autonomous market.
Working in a small team of creative and focused engineers to deliver solutions to the end customers, ensuring high quality and robust designs for a tough autonomous marine market place; including control, communication and management of autonomous surface and underwater crafts.
Overview of the position of Senior Software Engineer
For the position of Senior Software Engineer, ideal candidates will be multi-disciplined with a solid background in Embedded firmware development, Algorithm development for control systems
The successful candidate will be a theorist with a practical focus on delivery - able to relate theory to practice in a close-knit team and will have a desire to be involved in the design from concept to client delivery.
An understanding of Embedded systems from both a hardware and firmware.
Additionally, candidates should be creative and technically proficient to understand data produced by a range of environmental sensors and an ability to translate their outputs into a useable data format for applications such as collision avoidance.
Requirements for a successful application:
To be successful in application for this position you will need to be able to demonstrate experience of the following:
- Degree qualified
- More than 5 years' experience
- Experienced and highly proficient in C++ and C programming language
- Embedded - STM32, ARM, CMSIS; interrupts, timers, SPI, I2C, serial comms
- PC: QT, Windows, HTML5
