An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join a globally recognised engineering consultancy delivering innovative projects across the power, energy and water sectors.
This Principal Electrical Engineer role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading technically complex projects while mentoring engineers and working closely with clients to deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions. You'll play a key role in the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects, supporting both project execution and business growth across the UK.
The successful Principal Electrical Engineer will work on a diverse portfolio of projects spanning renewable energy, water treatment, wastewater, industrial infrastructure and power systems, helping to shape the UK's transition to a low-carbon future.
The Role
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
Leading the electrical engineering design and delivery of major power and water projects
Managing multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle
Producing and reviewing high-quality electrical design documentation
Providing technical leadership across Electrical and Control Systems engineering
Supporting project planning, programme management and resource coordination
Developing innovative engineering solutions for complex infrastructure projects
Building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
Supporting bid preparation and winning new work
Mentoring and developing junior engineers
Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, industry standards and quality proceduresThis Principal Electrical Engineer position offers the opportunity to influence nationally significant infrastructure projects while helping develop the next generation of engineers.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer with a strong background in infrastructure engineering.
Ideally, you'll have:
Previous experience as a Principal Electrical Engineer, Senior Electrical Engineer or Lead Electrical Engineer
Experience delivering projects within the power, energy or water sectors
Strong knowledge of Electrical and Control Systems design
Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
Excellent understanding of CDM Regulations and engineering best practice
Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
Ability to produce and review complex engineering documentationThe following would be highly advantageous:
IEng or CEng status (or working towards professional registration)
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Experience across renewable energy, water treatment, wastewater or industrial infrastructure
Full UK driving licence
