The successful candidate will teach Music across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE Music, inspiring students through engaging, creative, and challenging lessons.

The Role

As the Music Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that encourage creativity, confidence, and musical development. You will play an important role in helping students develop both practical and theoretical musical skills while fostering a lifelong appreciation of music.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Music lessons to students in KS3 and KS4.

* Teach GCSE Music, preparing pupils for examinations and coursework.

* Differentiate lessons to meet the needs and abilities of all learners.

* Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.

* Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where all students can thrive.

* Manage behaviour effectively in line with the school's behaviour policy.

* Inspire pupils to develop their musical knowledge, creativity, performance, and composition skills.

* Use a variety of teaching strategies and technology to enhance learning.

* Prepare lesson resources and maintain music classrooms and equipment.

* Support the planning and development of the Music curriculum.

* Encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities such as concerts, performances, productions, ensembles, and school events.

* Attend departmental meetings, parents' evenings, training, and school events.

* Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents, and external agencies where appropriate.

* Complete all marking, assessments, reports, and administrative duties in line with school policies.

* Promote the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential.

* Experience teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE Music.

* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

* Strong communication and organisational skills.

* A genuine passion for Music and delivering outstanding lessons.

* The ability to motivate, challenge, and inspire students of all abilities.

* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Essential Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

* A clean Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one before commencing employment.

* Eligibility to work in the UK..
