Our client is a respected provider of children's residential care, committed to delivering safe, nurturing and therapeutic environments where children and young people can feel valued, supported and empowered to achieve their full potential.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join their dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Residential Support Worker looking to progress into a senior role, or an existing Senior Residential Support Worker seeking a new challenge within a supportive organisation.

The Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with the day-to-day running of the home while leading shifts and providing guidance to the wider care team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading shifts to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, child-centred care.
Acting as a role model and providing day-to-day support, coaching and guidance to Residential Support Workers.
Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
Supporting the implementation of care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
Promoting positive behaviour through nurturing, therapeutic and relationship-based approaches.
Ensuring accurate and timely record keeping in line with regulatory requirements.
Supporting children to access education, healthcare, family contact and community activities.
Working collaboratively with social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals and other partner agencies.
Maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child.
Contributing to a positive, welcoming and homely environment where children can thrive.
About You

To be considered, you'll have:

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve within required timescales).
At least 2 years' experience working within a children's residential setting.
Experience leading shifts or supervising staff.
A sound understanding of safeguarding legislation and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
Experience maintaining care plans, risk assessments and accurate records.
Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
A compassionate, resilient and child-focused approach.
A full UK driving licence.
Desirable

Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare or Leadership & Management.
Experience working within an Ofsted-regulated children's home.
Knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic care.
Experience mentoring or supporting colleagues.
