Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Hungerford, is looking for an experienced Production Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on manufacturing professional to lead a skilled production team, drive operational improvements, and play a key role in achieving high standards across safety, quality, cost and delivery.
Production Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Production Technicians, providing day-to-day support, guidance and performance management
* Promote and maintain a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements
* Drive production performance to achieve cost, quality and delivery targets
* Ensure products are manufactured in line with customer specifications and internal quality standards
* Maintain compliance with ISO9001 and relevant quality procedures
* Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives
* Work closely with engineering teams during the product design process to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture
* Support the development and implementation of new manufacturing technologies, processes and improvements
* Provide hands-on support within production when required, offering additional resource and training guidance
* Manage production timesheets, resource planning and departmental requirements
* Develop and maintain training records, competency matrices and employee development plans
* Complete production documentation and reports to demonstrate compliance with Health & Safety, quality and customer requirements
* Produce management reports and support month-end reporting activities as required
Production Manager Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience in a Production Manager or Manufacturing Manager position
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing production teams
* A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice
* Experience working within an ISO9001 manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
* Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
* A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example
Production Manager Working Hours:
* Monday – Thursday, 07:30 – 16:00
* Friday, 07:30 – 13:00
* 40 hours a week
