Project Overview: KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth
Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO, or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. Security clearance can take up to 8 weeks
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings.
• Assist in establishing effective systems to record work completed updating the Project Quality Plan accordingly.
• Participate in developing quality check sheets and carrying quality checks & surveys.
• Assisting with site safety, environmental & quality inspections
• To assist in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
• Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
• Assist in providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
• Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances, from a provided site control.
• Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks and checking that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
• Completing Daily Diaries.
• Keeping trackers up to date
• Assist in procurement of site materials and equipment.
• Ensures workforce understand setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
• Assist in the preparation of sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels
are in place for effective understanding.
• To be aware of the provisions of the Kier Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System and to assist in its implementation to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain drawing register.
• Reinforcement understanding
• Reinforcement detailing & sequencing
• Formwork & Falsework experience
• Temporary Works - FRC
• TWC Certification
• Experience in reviewing and producing TWD Briefs
• Experience in short term plannign 6WKLAH
• Experience in developing / producing constructability reviews and documentation / planning for heavy FRC works
The ideal candidate will have:
• Academic Qualifications - Civil Engineering / construction related Qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng)
• May be working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or other appropriate professional body.
• Familiar in Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & digital levels) for Setting Out & Survey
• Experience in reinforced concrete structures using system formwork is essential.
• Awareness of commercial processes.
• Familiar with Quality Management System and familiar in writing RAMS.
• Proven people and project management skills.
• Team leader with organisational skills.
• Good standard of IT skills
• Flexible to working weekends and out of hours (on a rota basis to suit project requirements)
• Supervisor HSE test
• SSSTS
• CSCS Card – White PQP/AQP or Red Trainee or Red Provisional
