Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Manchester
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established ground engineering consultancy in Manchester. This is a varied role offering a balance of site and office-based work, with the opportunity to work on a broad range of geotechnical and ground investigation projects across the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from initial site investigation through to technical reporting, while supporting junior engineers and maintaining strong client relationships. This role would suit an engineer who enjoys combining practical site work with technical interpretation and project delivery.
The role will involve:
Managing and delivering geotechnical and ground investigation projects
Planning, supervising and undertaking ground investigations, including rotary drilling, cable percussion, trial pitting and in situ testing
Logging soil and rock to current British Standards
Producing factual and geotechnical interpretative reports
Providing geotechnical recommendations relating to foundations, earthworks and slope stability
Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring site works are delivered safely and efficiently
Managing project budgets, programmes and client communication
Mentoring graduate and junior engineers
Undertaking regular site visits across the UK as part of project delivery
Requirements:
Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Strong consultancy experience within geotechnical engineering and ground investigation
Experience supervising site investigations and producing technical reports
Knowledge of current British Standards and Eurocode 7
Strong communication and project management skills
Full UK driving licence
