Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting a leading manufacturing business in the recruitment of a Quality Engineer for their site in Dewsbury.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment on an ongoing contract basis until project completion, providing critical support across customer quality, problem-solving activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in investigating quality issues, leading root cause analysis activities, and ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented to meet both customer and business requirements. While the role is predominantly site-based in Dewsbury, some travel may be required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead investigations into customer and internal quality concerns, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.

* Support and participate in 8D problem-solving teams to drive sustainable improvements.

* Apply quality methodologies including APQP, PPAP, 8D, A3, PPS, 5 Why and Ishikawa techniques.

* Prepare and present internal and external quality reports, analysing data and providing recommendations.

* Act as a key point of contact for customers regarding quality-related matters.

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing activities.

* Identify process risks and implement robust controls, including Poka-Yoke solutions.

* Support quality planning activities including PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA and capability studies.

* Lead or support containment activities and management of non-conforming products.

* Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and other cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve process performance.

Candidate Requirements

We're keen to speak with individuals who have:

* Previous experience in a Quality Engineer or similar quality-focused manufacturing role.

* Strong problem-solving skills with experience using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa and Is/Is Not analysis.

* Knowledge of core quality tools including:

* APQP

* PPAP

* PFMEA

* Control Plans

* MSA / Gauge R&R

* Capability Studies

* Experience working within a manufacturing environment.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

* Experience using Minitab would be advantageous.

* Automotive industry experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
