Drylining Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £60,000 + Comprehensive Package
The Opportunity
An established and highly respected interiors and specialist fit-out contractor is seeking an experienced Drylining Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team. With a strong reputation for delivering large-scale residential, commercial, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments across the UK, the business continues to secure prestigious contracts with leading main contractors and developers.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in managing high-value drylining, partitions, ceilings, plastering, and associated interior systems packages from pre-construction through to final account.
Working within a collaborative and supportive environment, you will be given ownership of projects while benefiting from the resources and stability of a well-established construction group.
Key Responsibilities
Full commercial management of drylining and interior fit-out projects.
Preparation, submission and negotiation of applications for payment.
Management of subcontractor procurement, assessments and payments.
Preparation and submission of variations, valuations and final accounts.
Cost reporting, forecasting and budget management throughout the project lifecycle.
Reviewing contract documents and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
Liaising closely with project managers, site teams, clients and main contractors.
Measurement and valuation of works in line with contract requirements.
Monitoring project profitability and ensuring commercial targets are achieved.
Supporting dispute resolution and account settlement where required.
Assisting with tender reviews and estimating support when necessary.
Producing accurate monthly commercial reports for senior management.Candidate Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the drylining, interiors or specialist subcontracting sector.
Strong knowledge of:
Drylining systems
Suspended ceilings
Metal stud partitions
SFS framing
Plastering and internal finishes
Experience working on projects ranging from £1m to £20m+ in value.
Strong understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
Excellent negotiation and commercial management skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial management software.
Highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
