Role Overview:

A Business Partner is required for our Government Client to work in their Digital Centre department which joins up digital and commercial experts to deliver projects. You will act as a key relationship holder driving forward a priority programme with cross-government impacts. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of commercial, technology and delivery experts from various home organisations working as one team and as such will be a specialist in all things technical commercial, lead by example for their role model of digital commercial centre. As the Business Partner you will possess strong commercial and procurement strategy experience together with demonstrable knowledge in the technical commercial landscape.

Essential Skills & Experience required:

CIPS commercial qualifications.essential*

Strong commercial acumen is essential, particularly experience in commercial strategy and procurement. The role requires a focus on digital technologies from a commercial standpoint.

Desirable experience includes negotiating and working with major cloud providers. The environment is fast-paced and often ambiguous, requiring someone who is proactive, a self-starter and comfortable working to tight deadlines.

Excellent stakeholder management at all levels, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements for non-technical audiences and vice versa.

Must possess a solid understanding of procurement regulations and commercial policy is required.

This role involves working on a high priority first of its kind programme;this is a senior role and as the Business Partner you will possess previous experience of working on large procurement/large scale projects and be able to evidence/demonstrate what you have achieved commercially.

Candidates who possess a mixture of public and private sector experience would be preferred and you need to have previous experience of managing the end to end procurement and the procurement life cycle.

Experience in higher leadership management is also required and you will be part of a team size of approximately 25.

Duties include:

Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the allocated departmental area, in effect acting as an account manager for their allocated client areas and their primary point of contact for their Digital Commercial Centre

Work with teams in your assigned areas to engage early and gather their input and requirements to shape the long-term commercial programme deliverables within the Digital Commercial Centre

Ensure stakeholders understand the scope of their Digital Commercial Centre and how it interfaces with existing Commercial and Technology functions.

Gain consensus and feedback from allocated stakeholders feeding in to the programme and sharing updates and challenges back with stakeholders across the commercial and technical scope of the programme.

Ensure commercial tasks associated with the Digital Commercial Centre programmes are completed in line with agreed milestones and achieve the outcomes required.

Possess a sufficient understanding of procurement regulations and commercial policy in order to recognise where current policy impedes fast-paced acquisition and thus adapt to better fit their digital commercial centre.
