Quality Manager
Location: Epsom, Surrey (Office-based with flexibility available)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager or a Senior Quality Engineer looking to step into their first management position.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full ownership of the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring it remains compliant, effective and continuously improved.
* Manage internal and external quality audits, including preparing and leading Management Reviews.
* Ensure manufacturing processes consistently meet quality standards, customer requirements and applicable legislation.
* Maintain external quality accreditations, including ISO 9001 and other relevant industry certifications.
* Oversee quality assurance activities, including inspection of incoming materials, work in progress and finished products and review, update and promote quality procedures across all manufacturing and support functions.
* Lead investigations into non-conformances, carrying out root cause analysis and ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
* Coordinate external certification audits and maintain compliance with all accreditation requirements.
* Manage calibration schedules for inspection equipment and measurement devices, ensuring all equipment remains within calibration.
* Develop and maintain supplier quality standards, including managing approved supplier processes.
* Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
* Plan and conduct internal audits across all departments to ensure compliance with quality procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support document control, engineering change management and drawing revision processes.
* Support compliance with company policies relating to Health & Safety, environmental management, equality, anti-bribery and other corporate governance requirements.
Person Specification
* Previous experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer position within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
* Experience leading internal and external audits.
* Knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Experience managing non-conformance and corrective action processes.
* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across all areas of the business.
* Experience of supplier quality management would be advantageous.
* Knowledge of ATEX or other regulated industry standards would be beneficial but is not essential.
* Health & Safety experience or qualifications would be advantageous for candidates interested in developing into a wider QHSE role.
