SEN Teaching Assistants - Full-Time Opportunities

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Academics are looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a range of welcoming schools, supporting pupils to reach their full potential in mainstream settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, or individuals with transferable care or support experience who are committed to making a positive difference in children's lives.

Academics work with a variety of primary schools across North Staffordshire and are one of if not the main supplier to the local schools in the area.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, SEMH, and other learning difficulties.
Work on a one-to-one basis and with small groups to help pupils access learning.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
Create a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
The right to work in the UK.
