This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced welder who enjoys a varied role, combining workshop-based fabrication with nationwide site work on a range of technically challenging projects.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Time served Pipe Welder
Proven TIG and MMA (Low Hydrogen) welding experience
Experience with MIG welding
Ability to weld to ASME or EN standards
Ability to produce welds to radiographic standards
Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel pipework
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols
Familiarity with non-destructive and destructive weld testing
Full UK Driving Licence
Right to work in the UK
Proof of relevant welding codings (current or expired)
Desirable
Level 2 or Level 3 Welding/Fabrication Apprenticeship or Diploma
CCNSG Safety Passport
Forklift Truck Licence
Roles & Responsibilities
Carry out TIG and MMA welding on pressure pipework, vessels, tank headers and spool fabrications
Weld both small bore (<2") and large bore (up to 32") heavy wall pipework
Perform TIG root, TIG hot pass, MMA fill and cap, or TIG root, TIG hot pass and TIG cap in accordance with WPS requirements
Fabricate, modify and install commercial and industrial process pipework
Complete welding in all positions while maintaining high quality standards
Work to tight tolerances and engineering specifications
Carry out both workshop and nationwide site-based work, including overnight stays where required
Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards
Mentor and support junior members of the team
Requirements
As a TIG – MMA Coded Welder, you will also be expected to:
Be reliable, punctual and self-motivated
Be willing to work overtime, weekends and work away when required
Have excellent communication skills
Have a strong understanding of Health & Safety, including welding fume control
Be capable of working independently and as part of a team
Take pride in producing high-quality workmanship with excellent attention to detail
Identify and report welding issues for corrective action
Weld materials ranging from 1mm to 32mm wall thickness
