Position Title: Composites Trimming Consultant

Job Description

Automotive Composite Fitter (Trim & Prep) - Supercar Programme

Key Responsibilities:

Composite Trimming & Finishing

Perform hand trimming of composite components using air tools and hand tools (e.g. Dremel, die grinders, routers)
Trim parts to precise tolerances in line with engineering drawings and trim fixtures
Ensure accurate edge finishes and dimensional conformity
Work on complex geometries and high-value components (e.g. body panels, aerodynamic surfaces)

Preparation for Paint (Prime & Paint Readiness)

Prepare composite surfaces for paint, including:
Sanding and surface finishing
Filling minor imperfections (pinholes, surface defects)
Surface cleaning and degreasing
Ensure components meet Class A surface requirements prior to paint
Work closely with paint shop teams to ensure seamless handover

Assembly & Fitment

Trial fit and align components where required
Carry out minor adjustments to ensure correct fit and gap/flush targets
Support build teams with component fitment readiness
