Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Design Engineer to join a leading global business located near Knutsford / Northwich
The role will involve design and development of components used in a range of sectors including Offshore, Oil and Gas and Subsea applications.
This is a full time permanent opportunity with an industry leader in their field.
Candidates will be qualified to a minimum Degree level in a relevant Mechanical engineering discipline with a demonstrable background in design and development of mechanical products. Experience with Solidworks is a must.
Hours – 37 hours per week – 2 days remote available (Tuesday / Fridays at home)
Key Responsibilities
* Using 3D CAD software (Solidworks ) to design and develop new products from concept to completion
* Updating existing products to improve quality or to take advantage of modern manufacturing methods
* Liaise with customers to discuss new enquiries
* Represent the company during customer visits or at trade shows
* Ensure designs are validated using engineering calculations and FEA
* Produce manufacturing drawings of components and assemblies
* Peer checking of work done by colleagues
* Produce supporting documentation including assembly and test procedures, operating manuals, CE and UKCA marking etc. Ensure that all documentation and data conforms to the company’s ISO9001 quality system
* Work closely with suppliers to ensure that components are designed for manufacture
* Offer technical support to colleagues and customers
Education and/or Experience:
* Mechanical Engineering qualification to Degree level or equivalent experience in a related engineering design field.
* Strong demonstrable background within a mechanical design role.
* Excellent knowledge of Design and Manufacturing Techniques.
* Experienced using Solidworks for 3D Cad Modelling
* Experience dealing with and presenting to customers is advantageous
