Facades Design Manager

Design Manager – Roofing & Cladding | East Sussex | £60,000–£70,000

A well-established roofing and cladding specialist in East Sussex is looking for a Design Manager to join the team. With over 30 years in the industry and a strong order book of secured work across commercial, education, leisure, retail and industrial projects, this is a genuinely stable move with real progression.

The role
You'll take ownership of the design function from pre-construction through to handover, working across a varied portfolio of building envelope packages.

* Manage the design process for roofing and cladding packages from tender through to completion

* Produce and coordinate design drawings, details and specifications

* Liaise with clients, main contractors, architects, structural engineers and system manufacturers

* Ensure designs meet building regs, NHBC and relevant British Standards

* Support the estimating team with technical input at tender stage

* Review and approve subcontractor and supplier drawings

* Resolve technical queries on live projects and attend design team meetings

Systems you'll work across
Composite and built-up roof and wall cladding, rainscreen, standing seam, single ply membrane, structural decking, brick slip systems, rooflights and bespoke rainwater goods.

What we're looking for

* Proven design management experience within roofing, cladding or the wider building envelope sector

* Strong technical knowledge of envelope systems and detailing

* AutoCAD proficiency (Revit/3D an advantage)

* Confident dealing with main contractors and design teams

* Relevant qualification in construction, design or engineering

* Full UK driving licence
