Axon Moore are recruiting on behalf of a longstanding client for a Bookkeeper to join their finance team on an initial 3-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to support the business across a broad range of transactional accounting duties in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Irlam
Salary: Circa £40,000
Main duties:
Manage the end-to-end purchase ledger process, ensuring invoices are accurately processed, matched to purchase orders, and supplier queries are resolved promptly.
Prepare supplier payment runs, process domestic and international payments, and issue remittance advice.
Reconcile supplier accounts, company credit cards, and bank accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
Raise customer invoices, monitor outstanding balances, carry out credit control activities, and support cashflow forecasting with accurate payment information.
Maintain accurate financial records by processing daily banking transactions and ensuring all postings comply with VAT regulations.
Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and support the wider finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping activities.
Skills & experience:
Previous experience in a Bookkeeping or all-round transactional finance role.
Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and payment processing.
Good understanding of VAT and its application within a finance environment.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
