Permanent opportunity

Job Title: Manufacturing Operative

Salary: £26,227.50 (£13.45ph)

* Working at a production facility in Coleshill

* Working a two-shift pattern, 5 days a week:

* Days (06:00 – 13:30)

* Afternoons (13:30 – 21:00)

Regular overtime

* Monday to Saturday 1.5x

* Sunday 2x (not so regular)

* Shift premium of 20% on hours worked after 17:00

* Helping to run the pleating and hooking machine.

* Quality checking curtains as they come off the production line.

* Preparing the curtains to be packed.

* Packing curtains into boxes ready for distribution.

KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To manufacture and assemble the product range as required, where training has been provided, in accordance with documented company procedures and the company’s Environmental and Quality Policies.

Manufacturing requirements -

· Running the Pleat machine to recognized procedures.

· Operating the Hook machine to recognized procedures.

· Manufacture, packing and boxing of curtains according to detailed instructions, in preparation for courier or fitter collection as appropriate.

· Undertake predetermined quality checks at each step of production to facilitate correct assembly and ultimately the correct performance of all

products and components.

· To ensure products reworked online during the manufacturing process are segregated and meet all quality specifications.

· Clear labeling and identification of all products manufactured.

· Completion of all relevant batch / processing documentation as per training guides and product specifications and company procedures.

· To adhere to relevant hygiene and cleaning protocols at all times and assist in the maintenance of hygiene/cleanliness of the warehouse and associated production areas.

· To adhere to all Health & Safety requirements associated with warehouse and production areas.

Additional responsibilities if trained -

· Production of bespoke orders

· Offline rework

· Production paperwork

· Weekly random quality checks

· Recycling and general waste management

· Forklift duties

· Printing activities

· Installations cover

· Warehouse cover

General -

Follow all work instructions and company procedures.

Ensure the correct level of identification for components / completed products throughout all stages of manufacture and storage.

Maintain safe and tidy working environment at all times, to prevent risk of accidents.

aily removal of waste to ensure environment is kept to an acceptable standard.

Ensure all products are manufactured and handled in adherence to companies SOPs and Quality Procedures and that all documentation is completed and maintained as required by the Quality System Representative

Undertake any reasonable work activity that your line manager may request.

Continuous improvement - To initiate, support and lead Continuous Improvement projects as required.

Health & Safety - All employees are to be aware and understand their health & safety responsibilities as laid out in the Summit Medical Policy and its associated documentation. All employees have a legal duty to take all care needed for the safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their activities and to co-operate with the employer in complying with statutory requirements.
