We are delighted to be working with a leading regional Construction business on the recruitment of a Managing Quantity Surveyor.

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will provide strategic commercial leadership across multiple projects while managing and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors. Working closely with operational and senior management teams, you will ensure commercial excellence from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.

Oversee the commercial management of multiple construction projects.

Ensure effective cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.

Manage procurement strategies and subcontractor accounts.

Negotiate contracts and final accounts with clients and supply chain partners.

Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.

Support bid and pre-construction teams with commercial input.

Produce accurate monthly cost/value reports and forecasts.

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

About You

You will be an experienced commercial leader with a proven track record of delivering successful construction projects with values between £5m - £15m.

Essential

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Significant experience within a main contractor environment.

Previous experience managing commercial teams.

Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.

Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

Strong leadership and people management abilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
