TeamJobs is delighted to be recruiting for a Paralegal / Legal Secretary to join a well-established and respected law firm within their Commercial Property Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and proactive legal professional looking to develop their career in a busy and supportive environment.

The Role

Working alongside experienced solicitors, you will provide comprehensive legal and administrative support across a wide range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, refinances, and development projects. You'll play a key role in ensuring transactions progress smoothly while delivering an exceptional level of service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting solicitors with a variety of commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, refinances, and development matters.

Drafting and preparing legal documents, including leases, licences, assignments, completion statements, and supporting documentation.

Undertaking title investigations and reviewing Land Registry documentation.

Carrying out property searches and reviewing search results.

Preparing and submitting Land Registry applications and SDLT returns.

Managing post-completion matters and ensuring key deadlines are met.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case management records.

Liaising professionally with clients, lenders, surveyors, estate agents, local authorities, and other solicitors.

Providing clients with regular updates and responding to routine enquiries.

Opening new client files, completing AML and client due diligence checks, and ensuring compliance with firm procedures.

Assisting with billing, file management, and general administrative support.

Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations, anti-money laundering requirements, and data protection legislation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential

Previous experience in a Legal Secretary or Paralegal role, ideally within Commercial Property.

A good understanding of commercial property transactions and procedures.

Experience preparing Land Registry applications and SDLT submissions.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.

Desirable

Experience drafting commercial leases and related property documentation.

Knowledge of property finance transactions.

Previous experience within a solicitors' practice.
