We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder to join an established engineering company at their site in Worsley on a temporary basis, immediate start available.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established engineering company that operates across multiple industries, offering the chance to work on a variety of projects for high profile clients within a collaborative and supportive workshop environment.
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (38 hours per week). Pay Rate depending on experience, Overtime Available: Friday and Saturday mornings paid at enhanced rates, Sunday paid at double time.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carrying out MIG welding on mild steel.
* Working from engineering drawings to produce work to specification.
* Preparing materials for welding, including measuring, cutting and grinding where required.
* Producing high quality welds in line with company standards.
* Carrying out visual inspections to ensure completed work meets quality requirements.
* Using welding equipment, hand tools and workshop machinery safely and effectively.
* Supporting production targets while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
* Assisting the wider workshop team as required.
* Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working area at all times.
MIG Welder Skills and Experience Required:
* Previous experience working as a MIG Welder within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Experience welding mild steel to a high standard.
* Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Good understanding of fabrication processes and workshop practices.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high quality work.
* Experience using general workshop machinery, hand tools and measuring equipment.
* Reliable, hardworking and able to work effectively as part of a team.
* Flexible to work overtime when required.
