Are you a passionate teacher looking to pick up some flexible, rewarding tutoring work alongside your current role?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and supportive Functional Skills Maths & English Tutor to work on a small group basis with teenagers and young adults.
Location: Central London, Islington
Contract: Flexible, Part-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £30 per hour
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher or experienced tutor who enjoys making a real difference to a young person's education and confidence. You'll have the chance to provide personalised and group support, build a positive relationships with the students, and help them make meaningful progress in Maths and English.
What You'll Be Doing
Deliver engaging small group Functional Skills Maths and English tuition.
Adapt your teaching style and resources to meet the student's individual needs and SEN requirements.
Plan and deliver personalised lessons focused on addressing learning gaps and building key skills.
Track progress and provide positive, constructive feedback to the students
Create a calm, encouraging and supportive learning environment where the student can develop their confidence.
Help the students work towards their educational goals while making learning enjoyable and accessible.We're Looking For Someone Who Has
At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in Functional Skills Maths and English.
Experience supporting students with SEN and an understanding of how to adapt learning to individual needs.
Excellent communication skills and a patient, encouraging approach.
The ability to build a positive rapport with young people and inspire confidence.
The right to work in the UK.
An Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to undertake one.Desirable
QTS and/or PGCE.
Experience working with young people with EHCPs.
A background in Functional Skills, intervention or alternative education.Why This Role Could Be a Great Fit
