Critical Shift Engineer Job Title: Critical Shift Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical Bias – M&E)
Location: North West London, NW10
Site: Data Centre
Employer: Leading Facilities Management Company
Salary: £52,000 - £54,000 + excellent package (dependent on experience)
Shift Pattern: Continental Shift – Days & Nights
7am – 7pm
7pm – 7am The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical bias) to join a well-established and highly reputable FM provider, working on a prestigious data centre in North West London, NW10.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Level 3 qualified engineer looking for long-term stability, strong earning potential, and career progression within a company that actively promotes from within.
Key Responsibilities
Working as part of a dedicated on-site engineering team
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance
Managing PPM schedules, logbooks, and statutory compliance
Ensuring critical systems are maintained to a high standard in a data centre environment
PPM tasks to include (but not limited to):
Emergency lighting
Fire alarm systems
General lighting
AHUs & FCUs
Plant room inspections
Associated building services equipment Requirements
Mechanical or Electrical qualifications (Level 3 essential):
NVQ/C&G Level 3 in Electrical Installations, Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, HVAC etc. Electrical bias only:
18th Edition (essential)
2391 Testing & Inspection (desirable) Ideal Candidate
Mechanical or Electrical bias with a strong building services background
Comfortable working in a critical environment (data centre experience advantageous)
Client-facing and professional in approach
Well-organised with strong compliance awareness
Experience on healthcare or critical-site contracts is beneficial but not essential
