Automation Engineer - Broughton

Up to £37.00 per hour Umbrella / £27.66 per hour PAYE

Our client is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their Manufacturing Technologies Team based in Broughton. This is an excellent opportunity for an Automation Engineer to play a key role in supporting and developing advanced automated manufacturing solutions used in the assembly of aircraft wing structures and sub-assemblies. The position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge automation technologies, robotics and CNC machinery within a highly innovative engineering environment.

Key Responsobilities

As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the deployment and support of automated machinery used across critical manufacturing operations, including drilling, fastening, routering and milling processes. You'll work with a diverse range of equipment including industrial robots, large Cartesian machines, CNC milling machines and collaborative robots (cobots). The role will involve defining new machinery requirements, developing automated assembly processes, managing projects and providing technical support to existing manufacturing systems.

Requirements

Essential

Experience within automation, robotics or automated manufacturing environments.
Strong engineering background with practical automation expertise.
Degree-level qualification in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
Project management experience.
Strong digital and data analysis skills.
Experience using statistical or data analysis tools such as Minitab, Skywise or similar.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, including structured problem-solving methodologies.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Desirable

Aviation or aerospace industry experience.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes used within aircraft production environments.
Understanding of REACH legislation.Benefits & Additional Information

35-hour working week
25% overtime premium Monday to Friday.
50% overtime premium on weekends.
