Prestige Recruitment Specialists are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and successful organisation for an experienced Credit Controller to join their Central Accounts team based in New Holland.

About the Opportunity

Our client is a long-standing, reputable business with over 180 years of trading history and a strong presence across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an organised and detail-focused Credit Controller to support their busy finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a stable and growing organisation, working closely with internal teams, branches and customers to ensure effective credit control processes are maintained.

The Role

Reporting to the Credit Manager, you will be responsible for managing a busy sales ledger function, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the reduction of outstanding customer debt.

You will play a key role in ensuring payments are processed accurately, customer queries are resolved efficiently and strong relationships are maintained across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain the sales ledger system to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Process customer payments, including secure payment link receipts and BACS allocations.
Set up new customer cash and credit accounts.
Manage a portfolio of customer accounts across multiple branches.
Proactively chase outstanding balances via telephone, email and written communication.
Resolve customer payment queries promptly and professionally.
Monitor aged debt and support the reduction of debtor days.
Maintain accurate records across finance systems.
Manage accounts receivable queries and support the wider finance team.
Assist with additional sales ledger and credit control duties as required.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience within credit control, sales ledger or accounts receivable.
Experience managing customer accounts within a busy finance environment.
Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise with customers and internal stakeholders.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively to deadlines.Desirable:

Experience working within a multi-branch organisation.
Knowledge of Kerridge or similar finance systems.
Previous experience covering both purchase and sales ledger functions.
