Mobile Plant Fitter - Chertsey & Surrounding Areas (Mon-Fri, 07:00-16:30) £45k-£50k + Overtime
If you're the kind of plant fitter who doesn't need hand‑holding, keeps kit alive, and actually enjoys being trusted to run your own patch - this one's worth a look.
Why This Role Matters
Sites across Chertsey and the surrounding areas rely on plant that can't afford downtime. When something breaks, rattles, leaks, smokes or simply refuses to start - you're the one who gets it moving again. If you like autonomy, variety, and being the go‑to problem solver, this role fits like a glove.
What You'll Be Doing
Daily mobile site visits - tackling small and large plant repairs straight from your van.
Breakdowns & emergency works - using the software system to map jobs, log issues, and keep workflow tight.
On‑site inspections - spotting wear, tear, abuse, neglect, and future failures before they become expensive problems.
Close‑out reporting - sending HQ a clear summary of what you fixed, what you found, and what needs planning.
Hot‑works & welding - welding experience is a strong advantage; plenty of repairs need it.
Supporting the Chertsey yard - major repairs go back to base, but your reports drive the workflow.

Small Tools
Disc cutters
Wacker plates
Jet washes
Water bowsers
Jumping‑jacks
Large Plant
3-6-9t dumpers

Servicing on 14t+ machines - currently outsourced, but being brought back in‑house once staffing levels increase.
Who This Role Suits
You're an experienced plant fitter who knows the realities of site work. You diagnose faults quickly, work independently, keep your van organised, and take pride in leaving machines running better than you found them. You're confident, competent, and comfortable covering Chertsey and the surrounding areas without needing someone breathing down your neck.
