Construction Manager / Construction Assurance Manager (Rail)
£500 - £555 per day | Inside IR35 (Umbrella PAYE)
Contract | 12 Months | 35 Hours per week
Primarily Birmingham (with travel to Liverpool, York, Cardiff & Grays)
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager / Construction Assurance Manager to support the safe delivery of major railway station projects. This role will provide construction assurance across live rail environments, ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with UK railway standards.
Please note: The role is predominantly night shifts, although some day work will be required from time to time. Travel to other project locations will be necessary, with travel and accommodation costs covered where applicable.
Essential Requirements
Proven Site/Construction Management or Construction Assurance experience
Strong M&E and/or Civils background
Experience working on major railway station projects
Railway experience is essential
Valid Sentinel PTS
SMSTS (or equivalent experience)
Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation
Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and assurance reviews
Excellent stakeholder management and reporting skills
Key Responsibilities
Undertake site assurance visits, inspections, and audits
Review Construction Phase Plans and Work Package Plans
Produce inspection reports and manage improvement plans
Identify risks, trends, and opportunities for continuous improvement
Support safety, quality, and compliance across project delivery
Build effective relationships with contractors, project teams, and stakeholders
Desirable
Lift & Escalator installation/commissioning experienceTo be considered, candidates must have major UK railway station project experience and hold a valid Sentinel PTS. As well as ability to get BPSS/DBS.
