Could you open your home to a child who needs one? Calon Cymru is a local, Welsh fostering agency looking for warm, dependable people to become long-term foster carers.
Right now there are children across Wales waiting for a stable home close to their community, their school and the people they know. You could be that home.
You don't need a spare degree or a perfect house. You need a spare room, a bit of patience, and the willingness to make a child feel safe. We'll help with the rest.
Why foster with Calon Cymru? Local and Welsh through and through – we keep children close to home, and you'll always deal with a real person who knows you and your placement. Generous allowances – so you're properly supported to do this well. 24/7 support, every day of the year – a dedicated supervising social worker plus round-the-clock out-of-hours support. You're never on your own. Full training and development – from your first steps through to advanced, specialist training, all fully funded. A community, not a caseload – regular carer support groups, respite and a team that genuinely has your back. Who we're looking for You can foster whether you're single, married or in a partnership, renting or a homeowner, working or at home. What matters is that you:
Have a spare bedroom Are over 21 Have the time, energy and patience to care for a child Can offer stability, kindness and consistency We welcome carers from all backgrounds, cultures and communities.
