Civil / Structural Senior Designer

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Civil / Structural Senior Designer to join the team in Grangemouth.

This role will involve supporting civil and structural engineering and design activities, developing detailed design deliverables, and working collaboratively with Principal/Lead Engineers, project teams and clients to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Key Deliverables:
• To develop and prepare detailed civil and structural design documentation, including layouts, modelling, general arrangement (GA) and detail drawings.
• To support Principal / Lead Engineers in reviewing and checking design deliverables.
• To participate in site visits and surveys to gather information required for design development.
• To engage with cross-disciplinary teams and clients to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently and safely.
• To generate accurate design deliverables in line with project requirements and agreed schedules.
• To uphold the highest standards of quality and safety in accordance with relevant industry regulations, standards and client requirements.
• To contribute to identifying and delivering work process improvements within the design team.
• To maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in civil and structural engineering.
• To collaborate effectively with project teams to achieve project objectives.
• To manage multiple tasks and work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:
• HND in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, and/or a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
• Relevant experience using civil and structural design software.
• Familiarity with E3D and AutoCAD, or similar design software.
• Good knowledge of civil and structural design principles.
• Understanding of materials and construction processes used in civil and structural engineering.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• A self-starter who can also thrive in a team environment.
• A commitment to ethical and professional standards.
• Genuine enthusiasm for engineering and continuous personal development.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges
