Junior Engineering Geologist
£28,000 - £32,000

A well-established ground engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Junior Engineering Geologist to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with up to two years' experience to develop their career while working on a wide range of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.
The role is predominantly site-based, giving you the opportunity to build strong technical and practical experience while working alongside experienced engineers and engineering geologists.
The role:
Assisting with ground investigations across a variety of sites
Logging soil and rock to BS5930 standards
Supervising trial pits, window sampling and borehole investigations
Coordinating and overseeing drilling contractors
Collecting soil, rock and groundwater samples for laboratory testing
Carrying out in-situ testing including CBR, soakaway and permeability testing
Producing factual ground investigation reports
Assisting with geotechnical and geoenvironmental interpretative reporting
Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with current health and safety standardsRequirements:
Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
Full UK driving licence
Strong communication and organisational skills
Willingness to travel and work on sites across the region
Enthusiastic attitude with a desire to develop a career within ground engineeringThe successful candidate will receive:
