Teaching Assistant – College
A college based in south Manchester is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students aged 16-19 in both academic and pastoral settings. This role is to start in September 2026 at the beginning of the next academic year. The role involves working closely with teachers to provide classroom support, assisting students with additional learning needs, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and a passion for supporting young people to achieve their academic and personal goals. Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable.
The college we are recruiting for is based in Hulme, south Manchester. It provides a supportive environment where new starters can develop confidence and skills while working alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting pupils in lessons, either one-to-one or in small groups
Assisting teachers with classroom routines and lesson preparation
Helping pupils stay focused, engaged and on track
Providing support to students with additional learning needs
Always following safeguarding and school policies
Who We’re Looking For:
Recent graduates from any degree background
Individuals interested in education and teaching – with some experience working with children / in an educational setting
Confident communicators with a calm and reliable approach
People who are willing to learn and work collaboratively within a school team
Any experience with young people (coaching, tutoring, mentoring, clubs, etc)
