📍 Oxfordshire
💷 £33,000 - £45,000 DOE + Benefits

As our client continues to grow, we're looking for Manufacturing Technicians and Senior Manufacturing Technicians to join our manufacturing team, building and testing the highly complex optical, electro-mechanical and photonic systems that sit at the heart of our technology.

This is not a high-volume production environment. You'll work on cutting-edge products, collaborating closely with engineers and scientists to manufacture advanced equipment used by some of the most innovative companies in the semiconductor industry.
Whether you're an experienced technician looking to broaden your skills or a senior technician seeking a role with greater responsibility and technical ownership, this is an opportunity to have a direct impact within a rapidly growing deep-tech business.

What you'll be doing

Building, integrating and testing complex optical, electro-mechanical and cabling-based assemblies.
Assembling high-precision systems in accordance with quality, cost and delivery requirements.
Working from engineering drawings, build instructions and technical documentation.
Troubleshooting manufacturing issues and supporting root cause investigation activities.
Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes, quality and efficiency.
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, organisation and cleanliness within production and cleanroom environments.
Supporting the achievement of production schedules through high-quality, right-first-time assembly.
Ensuring assembly kits and components are available and correctly configured for build activities.

At Senior Manufacturing Technician level, you will also:

Lead the investigation and containment of manufacturing issues.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, reliability and productivity.
Mentor and support other technicians within the team.
Support the introduction of new products from development through to manufacture.
Take ownership of critical module integration activities and manufacturing best practice.

What we're looking for

We're interested in candidates from semiconductor equipment, photonics, scientific instrumentation, aerospace, medical devices or other advanced technology manufacturing environments.
You'll ideally have experience in:

Precision electro-mechanical assembly and test.
Building and integrating complex, high-value products.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Fault finding, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Manufacturing quality systems and best practices.
Working with exceptional attention to detail.
Delivering high-quality work within a low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environment.
For senior-level positions, we're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate leadership, process improvement and mentoring experience.

Desirable experience

Semiconductor equipment manufacturing.
Photonics, metrology or scientific instrumentation.
Optical systems, lasers and fibre optics.
Cleanroom manufacturing environments.
IPC wiring and soldering standards.
Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies.
Manufacturing engineering or process development experience.
Supporting products from development into production.
