Hays are working with a reputable organisation who are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Human Resources & People Coordinator to support the delivery of a high-quality People & Culture function. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full employee lifecycle, supporting recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, employee engagement, learning and development, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring employees receive an excellent experience from recruitment through to career development.
Your new role
Support end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, coordinating interviews and managing candidate communication.
Prepare employment contracts, offer letters and onboarding documentation.
Coordinate new starter inductions, ensuring a positive employee experience.
Review and maintain role profiles to ensure they remain accurate and aligned to business needs.
Support pre-employment screening and onboarding compliance checks.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
Process employee changes including contractual amendments, promotions and other employment updates.
Support performance review and probation processes.
Maintain absence, holiday and employee benefit records.
Produce HR correspondence, reports and documentation.
Assist with the coordination of training activities and development programmes.
Arrange training bookings and associated logistics where required.
Act as a first point of contact for routine HR and policy queries.
Support managers and employees with HR procedures and processes.
Assist in maintaining compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
Support health, wellbeing and employee engagement initiatives.
Maintain key compliance records and employee documentation.
Produce regular HR reports and workforce data.
Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the People function.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through enhanced processes and systems.
Support employee development programmes and training initiatives.
Assist with personal development plans and career development activities.
Monitor development progress and training completion.
Coordinate work experience placements and early careers initiatives.
Maintain accurate training and CPD records.
Support internal engagement activities and employee communication initiatives.
Assist with employer branding and attraction projects.
Help coordinate wellbeing, recognition and corporate social responsibility programmes.
Support employee surveys and engagement feedback initiatives.
Attend networking and industry events where appropriate.What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience within a Human Resources or People Administration role.
A good understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
The ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities.
A proactive and positive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous but is not essential.
