Music Technology Teacher - Performing Arts SEMH College | Islington

Fridays Only (1 Day Per Week) | September Start | Competitive Daily Rate

Remedy Education is recruiting a Music Technology Teacher to join a specialist Performing Arts SEMH College in Islington.

This is a fantastic opportunity to teach in a unique post-16 setting that supports 16-18-year-old students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The college specialises in using the performing arts to re-engage learners, helping them develop confidence, creativity and the skills needed for future education and employment.

Working every Friday, you will deliver engaging and practical Music Technology lessons, encouraging students to explore music production, recording and composition in a supportive and creative environment.

The Role

Teach Music Technology to post-16 learners (16-18 years)
Plan and deliver creative, practical lessons that inspire and engage students
Teach digital music production using software such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, GarageBand, BandLab or Cubase
Support students with recording, sequencing, mixing and composition
Prepare learners for accredited Music Technology qualifications (RSL Music Practitioner experience is desirable but not essential)
Work closely with support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Holds a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE, PTLLS or equivalent)
Has experience teaching Music Technology at KS5 or Post-16 level
Has strong knowledge of digital music production software
Has experience working with young people, ideally within SEMH, SEND or alternative provision
Can build positive relationships and inspire students through creative learning
Is patient, resilient and passionate about supporting young people to succeed
