Little Explorers Day Nursery are seeking an Early Years SENCO based in Stonham Aspal, Suffolk. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £27,644 - £28,267 per annum (pro rata for part time hours).
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate guidance and resources to thrive in their learning environment. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive atmosphere that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate guidance and resources to thrive in their learning environment. Your responsibilities:
develop and implement tailored educational plans for children with special educational needs
utilise applied behaviour analysis techniques to support behaviour management strategies
educate staff and parents on best practices for supporting children with additional needs
conduct regular assessments to monitor progress and adapt strategies as necessary
provide mentoring and tutoring for students, focusing on areas such as maths and literacy
engage in proofreading educational materials to ensure clarity and accessibility
collaborate with preschool and toddler care teams to create a seamless transition for young learners
maintain detailed records of student progress and interventions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
What you will need:
proven experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs
qualification in Early Years and ideally the SENCO training (although training will be provided)
excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
