Senior C++ Software Engineer - Medical Devices

Limerick | 4 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote
12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
€65-€78/hour (DOE)

I'm partnering with a global leader in medical technology that's developing next-generation software for connected medical devices, and they're looking for an experienced Senior C++ Software Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is an opportunity to work on high-performance software that interfaces directly with medical devices, collaborating with international Agile teams to deliver innovative solutions used in healthcare environments worldwide.

What you'll be working on:
  • Modern C++
  • Device-facing software and hardware integration
  • Multi-threaded and asynchronous applications
  • REST APIs & communication protocols (gRPC, SignalR, WebSockets, USB, Serial, CAN)
  • Software architecture and design patterns
  • Automated testing
  • Agile software delivery
You'll be:
  • Designing, developing and maintaining high-quality software for medical device platforms.
  • Building reliable, scalable applications that integrate with hardware and connected devices.
  • Collaborating with Product Owners, engineers and international Agile teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
  • Writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contributing to architectural decisions.
  • Troubleshooting complex technical challenges and driving continuous improvements across the software life cycle.
We're looking for someone with:
  • Strong commercial experience developing software in C++.
  • Experience building software that interfaces with hardware or Embedded systems.
  • A solid understanding of object-oriented design, concurrency and multi-threaded programming.
  • Experience working within Agile development teams.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for writing high-quality software.

Experience within medical devices or another regulated industry such as automotive, aerospace or defence would be highly advantageous.

Exposure to C#/.NET, REST APIs, distributed systems or cloud-connected applications would also be beneficial but isn't essential.
