This opportunity is ideally suited to a recently qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant with around one year of post qualification experience who is looking to further develop their career within audit and accounts. As a Senior Audit & Accounts Accountant, you will play a hands on role across both audit and accounts assignments. You will be responsible for planning and delivering statutory audits, preparing financial statements and tax returns, supporting junior team members and developing strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities
Audit
Plan and deliver statutory audit assignments in accordance with auditing standards and firm methodologies.
Prepare high quality audit working papers and complete audit files.
Lead audit fieldwork both on site and remotely, acting as the main point of contact for junior team members.
Assist with audit planning, execution and completion across a varied client portfolio.
Ensure assignments are completed efficiently while maintaining high technical standards.
Accounts and Tax
Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies.
Prepare corporation tax returns and self assessment tax returns.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and tax legislation.
Assist clients with technical accounting and compliance queries where required.
Client Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse portfolio of clients.
Respond promptly to client queries and requests for information.
Deliver a professional, proactive and high quality service at all times.
Work collaboratively across the wider team to ensure excellent client outcomes.
Team Development
Support, coach and mentor junior members of the team.
Provide guidance during audit assignments and day to day work.
Contribute to improvements in processes, systems and the firm's use of technology.
Help maintain a collaborative and supportive team environment.
RequirementsSkills and Experience Required
ACA or ACCA qualified.
Approximately one year of post qualification experience within an accountancy practice.
Strong experience delivering statutory audits across a varied client base.
Experience preparing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and self assessment tax returns.
Good technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and auditing principles.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Strong communication skills and confidence building client relationships.
Previous experience supporting or supervising junior staff would be advantageous.
