Location of the HGV Technician / Fleet Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic / Mechanical Engineer / LGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician: Aberdeen

Salary of the HGV Technician / Fleet Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic / Mechanical Engineer / LGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician: £24.50ph for £40 hours a week, plus Overtime for anything over 40 hours.
Earning potential of £51,000 (basic) to £72,000 (with Overtime)

My client is looking for an HGV Technician Mechanic to join their supportive team in Aberdeen and work on their Fleet of Modern HGVs and Tankers.

The Role of HGV Technician / Fleet Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic / Mechanical Engineer / LGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician:

Looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic / Technician to join their growing workshop team. You’ll play a key role in keeping the fleet safe, compliant, and on the road, carrying out servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and MOT preparation on a range of HGVs and tankers.

This is a hands-on role suited to a practical, safety-focused technician who takes pride in high-quality work and keeping vehicles operating at their best.

What You’ll Be Doing as the HGV Technician / Fleet Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic / Mechanical Engineer / LGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician:

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGVs and trailers
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
• Preparing vehicles for MOTs and supporting DVSA inspections
• Completing safety checks, inspections, and defect reports
• Using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems
• Carrying out breakdown repairs where required
• Keeping accurate maintenance and compliance records
• Working closely with drivers and transport teams to minimise downtime

Requirements for the HGV Technician / Fleet Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic / Mechanical Engineer / LGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician:

* Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)

* Proven experience working on HGVs or LGVs

* Full UK driving licence

* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

* Commitment to health, safety, and compliance

* HGV Class C or C+E licence Desirable

* IRTEC accreditation desirable

* Experience with DAF, Volvo, Scania, Mercedes, or similar desirable

* Previous MOT preparation experience desirable
