The Role

We’re looking for a skilled and safety-driven Electrician to deliver high-quality electrical installations, servicing and maintenance across Planned Works, Voids, and Responsive Maintenance (RM) programmes.

You’ll work in domestic and occupied settings, ensuring all electrical systems meet current IET Wiring Regulations and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

* Carry out repairs, maintenance, and installations to electrical systems and appliances within domestic and commercial properties.

* Deliver electrical works for voids and planned programmes, including rewires, consumer unit replacements, smoke alarms, fans, shower circuits, and general remedials.

* Support responsive repairs, diagnosing faults quickly, ensuring safe isolation and first-time resolution wherever possible.

* Conduct periodic inspection and testing, completing EICRs and remedial works to regulatory standards.

* Ensure all installations and repairs comply with BS7671 (current IET Wiring Regulations).

* Maintain accurate job information via PDA or mobile device, including certification, materials, and time records.

* Communicate effectively with residents, clients and colleagues to ensure smooth service delivery and a positive customer experience.

* Liaise with the Electrical Supervisor on technical issues, material needs, and progress updates.

* Carry out risk assessments and maintain safe working practices on all sites.

* Ensure full compliance with company Health & Safety, environmental, and equality policies.

* Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota on a rotational basis.

Essential Skills

* Proven experience as a qualified Electrician in domestic repairs, maintenance, or social housing.

* Fully qualified with NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent City & Guilds qualification.

* 18th Edition (BS7671) certification.

Additional Domestic Electrical Qualifications

* Electric heating systems (panel, storage).

* Electric cookers and cooking circuits.

* Proven ability to carry out installations, testing, and fault diagnosis independently.

* Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including safe isolation and permit-to-work systems.

* Competent with job management systems and PDA/mobile technology.

* Security clearance: Must hold (or be immediately eligible for) SC clearance and meet/maintain BPSS as a minimum; willing to undergo vetting and periodic renewals.

Desirable

* Experience working in Planned Works, Voids, or Responsive Maintenance environments, particularly within social housing or MOD contracts.

* Knowledge of PAS 2035/2038 retrofit and decarbonisation projects.

* 2391 (or 2394/2395) Testing & Inspection qualification.

What we offer

* Base Salary up to £38,000 depending upon experience

* 23 days’ holiday + Bank Holidays

* Company vehicle and fuel card

* PDA and uniform provided

* Long-service awards at key milestones

* Perkbox (free coffees, cinema tickets, discounts & more)

* 1 paid volunteer day each year
