4Recruitment Services are seeking to recruit a Community Housing Officer for our client based in Dudley.

Purpose of Role:

To deliver a community focussed tenancy and estates management service, highly visible to tenants, residents and other stakeholders.
To directly manage tenancies in a specified patch within a defined geographical area, working closely with other Housing and Communities teams, other Council Departments and other agencies to provide responsive services to customers create attractive, well maintained, safer estates.
To support individual households to maintain their tenancies in a suitable and effective manner through the direct delivery of service and the commissioning of work through other teams / services.
Duties include:

Manage a designated housing patch, acting as the main frontline contact for tenants and residents on tenancy and estate management matters.
Provide advice, guidance, and support to customers in line with tenancy agreements, policies, and procedures.
Manage tenancy compliance, including home visits, tenancy reviews, estate inspections, and proactive estate management.
Investigate and respond to customer enquiries, complaints, compliments, and service issues promptly and effectively.
Identify and manage breaches of tenancy conditions, including anti-social behaviour, taking appropriate enforcement action where required.
Work with vulnerable residents and manage complex cases, coordinating support from relevant teams and external agencies to help sustain tenancies.
Carry out estate walkabouts and inspections, identifying health and safety concerns, repairs, environmental issues, and improvements required.
Support residents through challenging circumstances, including domestic abuse, bereavement, relationship breakdown, and changes in health or personal circumstances.
Promote resident involvement and community engagement by building positive relationships with tenants, resident groups, local stakeholders, and partner agencies.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external organisations to improve neighbourhoods and enhance the customer experience.
Essential Requirements:

Previous experience within housing, tenancy management, estate management, or a similar customer-focused role.
Knowledge and understanding of tenancy agreements, housing policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
Experience of managing tenancy issues, including anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches, and complex casework.
Experience of undertaking home visits, estate inspections, and working within local communities.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, as the role requires travel across a designated housing patch.
