Your new role
As Senior Buyer, you will lead end-to-end procurement and commercial activities across high-value projects, ensuring value for money, effective risk management, and strong supplier performance. Key responsibilities include:
Leading complex procurement exercises from sourcing strategy through to contract award
Managing major supplier and subcontractor relationships across construction and infrastructure projects
Developing procurement and category strategies that support programme delivery
Negotiating contracts, commercial terms, and long-term framework agreements
Supporting cost management, forecasting, change control, and commercial risk mitigation
Providing procurement assurance and ensuring compliance with governance and procurement regulations
Advising senior stakeholders on sourcing, contracting, and supplier management strategies
Driving supply chain innovation, resilience, sustainability, and continuous improvement
Supporting and mentoring buyers and junior procurement professionalsTo be successful in this role, you will have:
Significant experience within procurement, sourcing, commercial management, or supply chain management
Experience working within construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, energy, or major projects environments
Strong knowledge of procurement best practice, contract management, and commercial governance
Experience managing complex procurements and high-value supplier contracts
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage risk and deliver value
Knowledge of NEC contracts and public procurement regulations would be advantageousWhat you'll get in return
