An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a major capital projects programme delivering complex engineering, construction, and infrastructure projects. Based in Nottinghamshire with hybrid working, this role offers the chance to influence high-value contracts, shape commercial strategy, and support the delivery of nationally significant projects. Your new role
As Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial leadership across the full project lifecycle, from procurement and contract award through to contract administration, change control, and final account settlement. Key responsibilities include:
Managing the commercial delivery of major construction, engineering, and infrastructure contracts
Leading procurement activities, tender evaluations, contract negotiations, and contract awards
Developing cost plans, forecasts, cashflow reporting, and commercial performance metrics
Managing contract change, valuation, compensation events, and final accounts
Providing commercial guidance on risk management, procurement strategy, and contractual matters
Supporting dispute avoidance, claims management, and commercial negotiations
Building strong relationships with project teams, contractors, consultants, and senior stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with commercial governance, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice
Producing high-quality commercial reporting and providing strategic advice to project leadership teamsWhat you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Significant experience within commercial management, quantity surveying, procurement, or contract management on major construction or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of NEC contracts is preferred but not essential with an understanding of commercial management principles
Proven experience managing high-value, complex contracts throughout the project lifecycle
Expertise in cost forecasting, valuation, change control, and commercial reporting
Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
Experience operating within a regulated, public sector, or highly governed environment would be advantageous
Professional qualifications such as RICS, MCIPS, or equivalent are desirableWhat you'll get in return
