Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our care home team. In this role, you will lead the clinical care for our residents, ensuring their health, dignity, and independence are supported at all times. Unlike fast-paced acute hospital wards, care home nursing centres on building meaningful, long-term relationships with residents while managing chronic conditions, palliative care, and everyday clinical needs.

Key Responsibilities

*

Assess & Plan: Conduct thorough physical and mental health assessments; design, update, and implement individualized person-centered care plans.

*

Medication Administration: Safely administer, store, and record medications in accordance with regulatory guidelines and professional standards.

*

Clinical Procedures: Perform routine clinical tasks including wound care, catheterization, peg feeding, syringe driver setup, and vital signs monitoring.

*

Emergency Response: Lead medical emergency situations on the floor, liaising with emergency services, attending physicians, and family members.

Team Leadership & Support

*

Supervise, mentor, and guide care assistants during assigned shifts to ensure high standards of personal care.

*

Delegate daily responsibilities fairly and ensure shift handovers are detailed and thorough.

Compliance & Communication

*

Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential medical and care records.

*

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, physiotherapists, social workers, and palliative care specialists.

*

Communicate empathetically with residents’ families, providing regular updates on health status and care decisions.

Requirements & Qualifications

*

License/Registration: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the relevant nursing board/council (e.g., NMC in the UK, State Board in the US).

*

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred (experience in geriatrics, palliative, or dementia care is a strong advantage).

*

Core Skills:

*

Proficiency in chronic disease management and complex care planning.

*

Strong observational and decision-making skills under minimal direct supervision.

*

Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills.

*

Compliance: Up-to-date certifications in CPR/BLS and clean background check/DBS clearance
