Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading packaging manufacturer in Selby for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team. The Role
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining the reliability, performance and efficiency of a busy manufacturing facility. You'll carry out planned preventative maintenance, electrical fault-finding and reactive breakdown repairs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you'll help maximise production uptime and ensure all electrical systems and production equipment are operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and production machinery.
* Respond quickly to electrical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs.
* Fault-find and repair industrial electrical systems, sensors, drives, motors, control panels and automated machinery.
* Work with PLC systems, inverters, relays, contactors and control circuits.
* Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
* Support electrical improvements and modifications across the site.
* Record maintenance activities accurately using the site's CMMS system.
* Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise plant performance.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
* Previous experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
* A recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
* Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Experience working on industrial production machinery and automated systems.
* Good understanding of PLCs, sensors, motors, drives and control systems.
* Basic mechanical fault-finding experience would be advantageous.
* A proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement and high engineering standards.
